2020-2021 10u Travel Program

REGISTRATION OPEN

We are reaching out to players from the past two softball seasons, born in 2010 and 2011 to invite you to register and try out for our town travel program. Our goal is to create two teams of dedicated and motivated players along with a commitment from their families for the 2021 season (to play mid January thru last weekend in July).

All interested players must register, however players that participated in the 2020 Fall 10u travel season or the 9u tournament that took place in November will not be required to try out. The final organization of teams and rosters will be determined after registration has closed and coaches evaluate capability of players registered that are new to our travel program.

Please review the below chart for description of anticipated travel programming.

All 10u travel players are required to participate in the New Canaan Softball Spring Rec Program.

PROGRAM OFFERINGS ARE DEPENDANT UPON COVID-19 PROTOCOLS IN PLACE FOR NEW CANAAN TRAVEL SOFTBALL, AND LOCAL/STATE GOVERNMENTS AT THE TIME OF THE EVENT.

IN MOST CASES, NCTS AND OTHER ORGANIZATIONS WILL NOT BE MORE RESTRICTIVE THAN GOVERNMENT REQUIREMENTS. EACH FAMILY WILL NEED TO DETERMINE ITS OWN LEVEL OF COMFORT WITH PARTICIPATION IN VARIOUS EVENTS.

Player Selection

It is possible that not all players trying out will make a 10u team.

Roster sizes may vary and will be based upon team/program needs and player commitment. Teams might offer “alternate” player status.

Our focus is the development of NC softball players. However, out of town players are permitted to try out and might be selected by either team.

Those 2010 players who participated in the 2020 10u NC Travel program this fall will automatically receive a roster placement on a 2010 team.

There is a limited number of roster spots available for this team.

Those 2011 players who participated in the 2020 10u NC Travel program this fall will automatically receive a roster placement on a 2011 team.

Final roster size will be dependant upon summer availability among the first 12 players rostered to this team.

Play Ups

While individual players may be capable of playing with an older team, for the long term good of the division and program, NCTS does not allow playing up without board approval.

Exceptions may be made for siblings who are both within the 10u birth years set forth above or in the event that one (or both) age group within the division does not have enough players to put forth an independent team.
